Senior Accountant
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in assisting the Finance Director with all accounting information review , German & Italian VAT and other Tax reconciliations and year end audit. The position requires a strong working knowledge in the areas of German GAAP accounting and finance combined with the ability to communicate effectively and develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers and co-workers.
Financial Accounting and Reporting
General ledger review and maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies
Monthly and Quarterly German and Italian VAT reconciliations of entities
Management of Year-end German audits and other projects
Assist in preparation of German Financial Statements, corporate Tax filings, German Tax audits, Payroll Tax audits
Ad hoc tasks in assistance of Transfer Pricing
Additional Responsibilities
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
Assist with various projects that are assigned to the Finance Department and other areas as needed.

THE ASSETS YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in financial accounting, corporate finance or public accounting
German VAT and Tax knowledge preferred
Strong double entry a must
CIMA, ACCA or other accounting qualification or part qualified preferred.
Independent self-starter
Quick learner and able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and flexible
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
The candidate must also work well within a service-oriented company culture, a team environment and effectively communicate in a clear, friendly and professional manner verbally and in writing.
Strong experience with NetSuite or other major accounting system
Technical Skills and Experience
Ability to understand and apply US and German GAAP and other EU country GAAP advantage
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (especially with sumifs, lookups and pivot tables)
